Hi, I’m Melisa. If you’ve made it to this page, you’ve probably already noticed that I’m working on a lot of things at once.
I’m a mom of five kids in six and a half years, which means my life these past almost 11 years has never really had a slow season. Most of what I’ve built has been built in the in-between… during preschool hours, after bedtime, in the mornings before kids get up, and in moments when the kids are finally playing nice together and I can steal away a few minutes to work on a project. I’ve learned that there’s no “good” time to start anything, because something will always come up or get in the way. So I’ve decided to stop waiting.
In college, I studied psychology, and even though I never actually finished my degree, those ideas and that thought process show up in almost everything I do. It’s in my podcast, in the way I write, in the software I built (or the way I built it), and in the school I’m planning for my kids. I love learning how things work, how people think, and how to turn an idea into something real.
The projects you’ll find here are all different in scope, purpose, and area, but they all come from the same core place: having an idea and figuring out if it can actually work. Sometimes they have worked, and sometimes they haven’t, but I’m documenting it all here either way.
This site is where I share my process and put it all down. The learning, the building, the book I’m writing, the pictures I’m taking, and figuring it out as I go.
